ipschool wrote on Sep 5, '11 Cheche Lazaro, Pilipino Journalist wrote about IP: "Seeing IP volunteers at the Lowell Festival today is one of the most heart-warming sights I have ever seen. What an inspiring sight. Young ones offering turon samples and walking the billboards, older ones manning the combo line, teeners helping to decongest the long lines by offering quick orders, mothers working in an assembly line for lumpia, chopping, mixing, and rolling them into perfectly fat lumpia, fathers standing before hot, commercial-sized barbeque grills, senior citizens preparing the noodles for the pancit. To me, it was the Filipino spirit of working together at its best. Powered by a desire to be a part of a community that works to keep our Filipino heritage alive, supported by selfless volunteers who do not count the hours or feel the aching muscles after hours of working, what IP continues to do is a labor of love. Something that should be replicated everywhere in the world where there are Filipinos. When we set our minds on it, we are the best at what we do. It is truly a uniquely Filipino trait. Kayo ay namumukud-tangi. You make me proud to be a Filipino. Mabuhay ang IP!" |
